OZ51x – Standard RFoF Link

Home / RF over Fiber / Standalone Modules / OZ51x – Standard RFoF Link

The OZ510 OEM fiber optic transmitter and receiver modules are Optical Zonu’s standard building block broadband RF over Fiber board level optical link assemblies. The OZ510 transports RF signals in the frequency range 30 MHz to 3 GHz. Lower roll-offs down to 10 kHz are available. An integrated LNA may be added to the transmitter to optimize noise figure and input/output IP3 for a variety of RF power levels and optical loss budgets. The OZ510 features a linear optically isolated DFB laser diode or a high performance InGaAs photodiode. The standard RF interface is 50 Ohm SMA however some packaging requirements benefit from a surface mount 50 Ohm SMB connector (contact the factory). The OZ510 module is powered from +12 VDC. Variations of this OEM form factor also support GPS, IRIG-B/1PPS/TTL, and low phase noise clock distribution.

  • Lower Roll-off frequency: 30 MHz (contact factory for frequencies down to 10 kHz)
  • RF Gain/NF: no LNA, +20 dB LNA (in transmitter)
  • Transmitter Wavelength (CWDM): 1270 – 1330 nm, 1470 – 1610 nm
  • RF Interface: 50 Ohm SMA, 50 Ohm SMB (contact Optical Zonu)
  • Bias-T (in transmitter, provides DC on center coaxial conductor): no Bias-T, 5V Bias-T, 12V Bias-T (contact Optical Zonu)
  • Optical Connector (pigtail): SC/APC, FC/APC, LC/APC (contact Optical Zonu)
  • Fiber: Single mode, 62.5 um OM1 MMF, 50 um OM3/OM4 MMF (contact Optical Zonu)
