Antenna Remoting

Antenna Remoting Home / Solutions / Antenna Remoting Tactical Radio – RF over Fiber Optical Zonu offers a variety of electrical-to-optical building blocks that may be integrated into tactical radio systems to extend radio to antenna separation to distances that are both convenient and safe for radio operators. Tactical systems generally are specialized radios that are designed for military or law enforcement use, built to withstand harsh conditions and provide secure communication in critical situations on the battlefield, often featuring encryption and advanced capabilities to minimize enemy interception and interference; essentially, a ruggedized radio built to military specifications for reliable communication in demanding environments. Use OZC’s RFoF to separate mesh radio units from their high-mounted antennas. Critical in EMCON-sensitive operations, improving both safety and signature management. Multi-Radio Co-Site Isolation When TrellisWare, Persistent Systems, or Silvus radios are co-located with other emitters (e.g., SATCOM, SINCGARS, EW), RFoF provides RF isolation and minimizes intermodulation/interference. See Tactical Radio page for more information. eFiberSAT and RF over Fiber Infrastructure cabling can take the most convenient path due to the fact of the low loss, EMI/RFI immunity of fiber optic cabling High capacity functionality architecture In many application systems are used for military applications. Antenna Remoting – CDL

Antenna Remoting – CDL Antenna Remoting – CDL Antenna Remoting over fiber enables greater flexibility to locate an antenna away from a radio head. Coax cables or Waveguides have significant RF losses and are cumbersome to install. RF over Fiber enables “virtual cable” installation over flexible, small diameter, easily deployed and installed fiber. Such an Antenna Remoting solution was deployed, tested, and validated by the US Navy The Common Data Link (CDL) is a secure communications protocol, established by the U.S. Department of Defense, for transporting signals intelligence and imagery. CDL supports data rates up to 274 Mbits/s and operates between sites (e.g., airborne, shipboard, ground, satellite) in the Ku-band. In many cases, it is not feasible to upconvert/downconvert the Ku-band signals at an antenna. Optical Zonu’s CDL fiberoptic transport links solve the problem and meet the requirement of transporting Ku-band RF signals over much longer distances than can be supported by copper. Optical Zonu CDL deployments include lightweight antenna remoting kits for tactical deployment in flexible arenas such as the battlefield of the future. Optical Zonu CDL links also support Ku-band connectivity between remote antenna radome high above the decks of ships and Satcom modems deep within fighting ships.

Links (indoor / outdoor)

Timing / Distribution (GNSS) – Links (indoor / outdoor) The Optical Zonu GNSS / GPS Product Family What is GNSS / GPS and how do they differ? Optical fiber provides a cost-effective solution for long coaxial cable runs in GNSS / GPS systems. The Optical Zonu GNSS / GPS over Fiber for Network Sync System allows signals to be carried from an antenna to a GNSS / GPS receiver with minimal signal degradation over a non-conducting dielectric glass media. This system provides a completely transparent cross-site connection between an antenna and receiver. As is the case in many types of in-building environments, networks require accurate clock synchronization. By utilizing broadband RF linear (analog) over Fiber Optics (RFoF) Technology, Optical Zonu GNSS / GPS over Fiber Optics Links provide easy to operate, low cost and reliable solutions that enable GNSS / GPS signal distribution using fiber optic cable. The broad bandwidth (20 MHz to 3.0 GHz) of the RFoF transceivers used in our GNSS / GPS over Fiber Optics Link allows transmission of the two main signals in the GPS band, L1 and L2, at 1575.42 MHz and 1227.6 MHz respectively. This GNSS / GPS over Fiber Link is designed to

ZonuSkyShot GPS Tester

ZonuSkyShot GPS Tester Description The ZonuSkyShot GPS Tester is a compact GPS receiver which detects the presence and, the signal strength of a GPS signal, and identifies all the satellites “seen” carried by the signal. The device enables laptop or phone connectivity to report and indicate this at the LED device’s screen. Furthermore, this GPS receiver can be accessed at the USB port on the Base Unit, or via a Bluetooth™ device allowing the user to see the available satellites using the app provided with the system. The receiver can simultaneously track up to 16 satellites while searching for new ones. An example is shown below. The unit can be plugged into AC power with the AC adaptor included. If the GPS signal is being received, the GPS LED will blink red. For more detail, a laptop can be connected to the unit via the micro-USB port or using our “New” Bluetooth™ feature and an easily downloaded App, please see below for link. The constellation and received signal levels for all visible GPS satellites are shown. The ZonuSkyShot has an internal battery which is recharged with an AC adaptor, included. There is an On/Off switch to save battery power. Sufficient
