Description

The J3U platform is a modular EIA 310-D Standard 19” 3RU chassis that accommodates (among other things) 16 pluggable, hot swappable fiber optic RF signal transport modules on the front of the chassis. Chassis front insert modules may be configured as single and dual transmitters, single and dual receivers, and transceivers (transmitter + receiver). The front of the chassis also supports a number of RF and optical splitter, combiner, and switch modules. Using these RF/ optical diversity modules facilitates various hardware and signal redundancy architectures such as 1+1 and N+1.

Modules within the J3U platform may be monitored and controlled in a number of ways. Locally, LEDs on the modules provide health and status. There are multiple ways to monitor and control modules remotely when using the JS14 Managed RFoF switch module within a connected chassis. Administrators may access modules via a serial or SSH CLI console connection, an HTTP web user interface, and an embedded (within the JS14 managed switch) Managed RFoF graphical command and control interface. The JS14 module also supports SNMP v2 and v3. The JS14 (or S11) managed switch may be connected to the J3U chassis directly or through a USB hub, that is, the J3U chassis may be monitored from a JS14 or S11 switch that resides in another chassis. A chassis may also house multiple JS14 managed switch modules, each with unique IP address. In this way, a chassis may be monitored by multiple independent administrators.

Multiple redundant AC and DC power supply options (including N+1) are available. The chassis supports two hot swappable, field replaceable fan units to maintain a stable operating temperature within the chassis
